Member Kevin Glover acted for the LEGO Group in a 12 day trial against Zuru in the Auckland High Court in May 2023. The case involved trade mark, passing off and Fair Trading Act issues arising from Zuru’s proposed use of the LEGO word mark on its packaging for competing products, including novel issues relating to comparative advertising. The Court’s decision has been reserved.
